Dyavol - Russian style supported spindle in resin stabilised Jamaican Fiddlewood, Beefwood and Dymondwood. medium light weight

This spindle is a stock item and you will receive an item very similar to the one in these photos. This heirloom quality spinning tool is an original designed by Malcolm Fielding and made by Jory Freyee, in the workshop of The SpindleShop.

This original design for a small support spindle has a thin straight shaft and a larger whorl at the base.  The spindle shaft is made from Dymondwood for strength, stability and long service life. The spindle tip is made from an insert of hard grade titanium for extreme long life.

This medium size shaft support spindle has a small whorl on a Dymondwood shaft. It is very fast and light with an excellent spin and very thin flicking tip. The whorl of resin stabilised Jamaican Fiddlewood is a pretty shape, hollowed on the under side.  The lower tip trim is made in Beefwood (QLD) The whorl has been balanced for perfect spin.

The spindle is finished to a very smooth surface, polished with a french polish and then a final gloss of carnauba wax for a long lasting shine and protection.

Your spindle is checked for quality and spin before despatch and comes with tip protectors and is packed with some Tasmanian Merino roving and a signed slip with the woods used listed and date of making.

This easy to handle spindle has a long very fast spin, excellent balance and is very easy to set into motion. It is ideal for short staple or very fine fibres.
